The Soft Neons Collection (Part 2) from Beyond The Nail is a four piece collection of pastel neons adding on to the Spring collection that hosted the original four pastel neons. This collection will be releasing on at Indie Expo Canada initially on June 10th and available online from the website on June 12th these will retail for either $44 CAD for the entire set or $12 CAD per polish. That is a steal for 4 cremes because guess what, they watermarble too! You can also get the entire set of all 8 neon pastels for a total of $84 CAD either in person at the Indie Expo or online.
These have the added punch of being able to glow under black light just like the first 4, but alas that is the one bit of photography equipment I have yet to acquire, so I’m not able to show that off at this time. But check out Beyond The Nail at Instagram (@beyondthenail) to hopefully see some photos of that effect from some other bloggers!
Let’s get into the photos though so you can check these out for yourself.
Each of the swatches shown is two thin coats of polish and one layer of Top Coat from Glisten & Glow unless otherwise noted. All images are shown under Ottlite bulbs as well. To watch the live swatch click here!
“Scorching Coral” is a smooth pinky orange hue that radiates coral and kind of reminds me of salmon with the gorgeous pinky shade it has when it is uncooked. Weird comparison I know, but it’s totally true, so yeah I’m aware I’m weird. This goes on smoothly for me in just two coats although I do tend to go in thicker on the second coat so keep that in mind when applying it yourself. I love this shade and it is a close second for my favorite of the collection.
“Popping Periwinkle” is a creamy purple-blue with a fluorescent glow. This one goes on smoothly in just two coats as well and is such a gorgeous neon lavender hue that it is shocking. It is the long shot winner for my favorite of the collection, I honestly did not expect to love it as much as I did when I first pulled it out I gave it a half glance, but when I went to swatch it – it blew me away!
“Booming Banana” is a soft yellow hue with a pop of neon yellow. This is such a perfect banana color, I absolutely couldn’t believe how gorgeous it was on and how close it is to real banana yellow. This was the one color I thought might take three coats to be opaque, but was so excited to find out it only took two and it was completely opaque and gorgeous!
“Exploding Honeydew” is a pastel melon shade with an aura of radioactive green. This is a popping perfect summery melon green and it reminds me of the inside of a honeydew for sure, but also of that little bit of watermelon rind that is kind of light green towards the inside. It is so soft and beautiful, this did take three coats to be completely opaque, but it is definitely worth it!
Overall these are all gorgeous and if you get to snag them in person at the Indie Expo then you should know that I am totally jealous, I’m hoping to go to the show myself next year hopefully it’s in the cards for then. If not then you can also get them online on the dates listed above so have the ninja fingers ready to go if you’re in love like I am!
