If you’re a hardcore fan of Glam Polish like I am then you likely already know about the Glam Polish Fans group on Facebook, however if you do not then I suggest clicking the link and checking it out. Each month Glam Polish creator, Rachel Griffin, releases fan group exclusives only available to those included in the group on a limited edition basis. Once they’re gone, they’re gone, so these are super beautiful super limited edition shades. These below will release on June 8th at 2:00 p.m. EST and as always you need the code from the post in the Facebook Fan Group linked above to purchase.
For the month of June instead of the usual duo of polishes being released there is going to be a very gorgeous and very special quartet of polishes being released themed around one of my favorite things ever: The Hogwarts Houses! If you don’t get from my tagline everywhere that I’m a huge Harry Potter fan then you so have not been paying attention and coming from a ride or die Potterhead these polishes definitely do not disappoint. They’re each in the houses primary colors and then filled with flakies, microglitter, holographic glitter, ultra holo glitter, and unicorn flakies. So they’re definitely a mix of magical goodness, these will only be available to purchase with the code from the Glam Polish Facebook Fans Group, so if you feel any of them might just be your House or patronus for life then join the group linked above and snag that code to snag this goodness.
Enough of all of this chit chat though, let’s get into the best part of them all…the gorgeous as hell swatches!
Each of the swatches shown is two thin coats of polish and one top coat of Top Coat from Glisten & Glow unless otherwise noted. All images are shown under Ottlite bulbs as well. To watch the live swatch click here.
“Gryffindor” is a scarlet jelly with iridescent flakies, shifting iridescent microglitter, fine holo microglitter, ultra holo glitter and a touch of unicorn shimmer. This went on for me smoothly in two coats and I went in with a little thicker top coat due to the flakies in these, but it is so gorgeous. This is like the perfect shade to be the epitome of the Gryffindor house, it’s bright, and bold, and daring, and everything a Gryffindor could ask for.
“Hufflepuff” is a yellow jelly with iridescent flakies, shifting iridescent microglitter, fine holo microglitter, ultra holo glitter and a touch of unicorn shimmer. This one went on in three coats, I tried making it work with just two but even if I went in thick on the second it had to have that third coat to be all good and opaque enough to satisfy me. Keeping that in mind I recommend going in thin on the coats and making sure you flatten the flakies down before moving on to the next coat. I’m super not a Hufflepuff and bright yellow is not usually my color but the kind of orange firey shimmer this has is completely awesome.
“Ravenclaw” is a blue jelly with iridescent flakies, shifting iridescent microglitter, fine holo microglitter, ultra holo glitter and a touch of unicorn shimmer. This went on for me just two coats again and of course has flakies so stamp them down as well. This is such a royal blue and yet so bright in certain lighting it is kind of whimsical but a more sombre color definitely giving off that smart, and secretly sassy Ravenclaw feel. I absolutely love it, pair this with some white or silver stamping and you can’t go wrong here.
“Slytherin” is a green jelly with iridescent flakies, shifting iridescent microglitter, fine holo microglitter, ultra holo glitter and a touch of unicorn shimmer. This is one of the trickiest shades there was to photograph, this baby goes on smoothly in just three coats and possibly in two, but I went with a third just to make sure it was all opaque. But under every camera except one old point and shoot I had it looked teal not green there is something in this polish pigment that made my newer DSLR’s lose their collective s&*t, but not a trust old Canon point and shoot I finally dug it up and it captures the gorgeous emerald green that is the emblem of a true Slytherin. It’s truly breathtaking and so I wanted to make sure it showed in it’s gorgeous true colors!
Overall these are definitely another knock out of the park from Rachel and she truly embodied each of the houses within these colors as well as making them truly magical. As mentioned above these are only available to members of the Glam Polish Facebook Fans Group and you have to be a member of the group to be able to access the code to lower the prices on the website to their regular price so hit it up at the link above and get yourself sorted!
