Oh, The Places You’ll Go by Glisten & Glow

The Oh, The Places You Go Collection from Glisten & Glow is a beautiful collection featuring four one to three coat cremes with two “shimmah” effects toppers, and right now is being sold in a special bundle that also includes the new matte top coat from Glisten & Glow. This post is going to cover the bundle, since it was the very best deal and awesomely priced, so it is what I snagged.  The cremes, toppers, and the matte top coat are all on sale now from the

Pre-warning that the cremes are very pigmented, I was using a peel off base coat and using two coats of it, and they still stained, which doesn’t really bother me. I do know however some people hate when their nails are stained and will bleach them making them brittle and easier to crack. So if you don’t want to have to bleach your nails, definitely use a good base coat and several coats, however if you’re like me and the staining doesn’t bug you then have a free for all.

All of these polishes all stamp amazingly well as well, and they water marble well (I know this from other blogger/swatcherson Instagram, because we all know my watermarbling skills are at a level -100). As you can see from this quick stamping I did on some swatch sticks, they are gorgeous to stamp with and go on very opaque and beautiful as do all of the cremes from Glisten & Glow I’ve tried.

Last note, these are swatched on my poor little nubbins, the final cracked bit of the nail that broke waaaaaaay back in December finally grew out and busted off. So FINALLY after three months the crack that almost cost me an entire nail (literally it was almost to the cuticle it was BAD), is gone and I can grow them out nice and neat now.

Each of the swatches shown is two thin coats of polish and one top coat of Seche Vite Quick Dry Top Coat unless otherwise noted. All images are shown under natural sunlight bulbs as well. To watch the live swatch click here.

“Today Is Your Day”

“Today Is Your Day” is a gorgeous yellow creme, this looks different in different lights, in lower lighting it appears more bright yellow and in natural sunlight it looks pastel yellow. This went on in two coats and it did stain some.

“Great Balancing Act”

“Great Balancing Act” is a beautiful orange creme, this also looks different in different lights, it’s a deeper more burnt orange in natural sunlight and more pastel in lower or synthetic lighting. This went on in two coats and it slightly stained as well.

“Your Mountain Is Waiting”

“Your Mountain Is Waiting” is an adorable pastel pink that also shifts to different intensities in different lights. I actually needed a color like this a couple weeks back for a “The Walking Dead” nail art tutorial and had to mix one like it, but then this one comes along and saved! This is two easy coats.

“98 and 3/4 Percent Guaranteed”

“98 and 3/4 Percent Guaranteed” is a milky lavender creme that actually went on in only one coat. Also of course has a different intensity in different lights, it almost looks blue in this shot because I was adjusting the light and it kept looking too washed out in the brighter lights.

“Bang Ups and Hang Ups”

“Hang Ups and Bang Ups” is one of the two “shimmah” toppers from this collection, it has a distinct blue shimmer to it that shifts between blue and green under the light. It is absolutely gorgeous and I love how it looks over black.

“Fun To Be Done”

“Fun To Be Done” is the second “shimmah” topper and it is absolutely gorgeous it is definitely my favorite of the two, it has a purple shimmer to begin with. This one kind of shifts between purple and a kind of sunset orange in the light.

Warning: Fair warning with the toppers don’t use cheap polish under them. I tried to use Sally Hansen Insta Dri under them originally and the topper melted the under bit of the polish. I then switched to using Memento Mori from Cirque and it worked completely fine with none of the melting. If you do use a cheaper or “drug store” black then definitely use a top coat before going in with the toppers. Otherwise they are gorgeous as hell.

When you purchase this set in the bundle, which may only be offered for a limited time, I’m not sure if it is limited or will be permanent in the shop. Then you also get the new Matte Top Coat, on this swatch wheel you can see how each of the colors and the toppers look with regular HK Girl from Glisten & Glow and the new Matte Top Coat. The top coat is gorgeous and even feels velvety and smooth when it is applied, which is a huuuuuge plus for me as I hate feeling texture on my polish when I use any kind of textured polish I always use several coats of top coat to make it smooth.

Overall this entire collection is absolutely gorgeous I love the cremes, and as stated above they stamp and water marble well. I actually don’t think I’ve run across a product from Jill that doesn’t stamp and water marble well actually. So there is that, definitely reccomend this collection though and loved playing around with it.
